Photo Challenge Week 15: Silhouettes

(Chelsea T) #1

This week we challenge you to photograph a silhouette.

By placing your subject in front of a light source your subject will be underexposed, creating a silhouette. This can add a bit of mystery to your photo and leave a piece of the story up to the viewer’s imagination.

In the image below, Annie photographs Susan Sontag in Petra, Jordan in 1994. The silhouette of Susan leaves you wondering what she might be contemplating or looking at in that moment.

Here’s mine. The hubby, under the table, in front of a night light. I’ll let you interpret it at will.

A guard in Elsinore Castle. Is he real? Is it fake? Who can tell.
